Honda takes a commanding lead with Wilson Todd in the MX2 class as Ferris pushed through pain to stay in championship contention.

Round 4 of the Australian Motocross Championship delivered great racing and some fantastic results for Factory Honda and the Ride Red program.

Wilson Todd dominated the MX2 class and has a commanding 61-point lead over his closest rival.  The all new CRF250R continues to deliver outstanding results in competition.  Todd was happy to deliver two wins to Honda.

“I was disappointed from the previous round, after crashing and disrupting our perfect streak I was determined to turn things around. Taking both races wins and increasing our points lead made for a great weekend. Was also great to see Honda go 1-2 in the 250 class in America with the Lawrence’s.  The bike is really that good,” said Wilson Todd.

Dean Ferris had a challenging weekend fighting back from two hard falls he had in his lead up to the weekend’s competition.  His overall results didn’t reflect the speed he has found and the work everyone has been putting in.

“I will take 4th this weekend as it was touch and go as to whether I was going to race.  I had two big crashes last week, one of them was on Friday and I was really struggling.  The bike and team are working great, and we will rebound between now and round 5 Maitland,” said Ferris.

Dean is 24 points of the championship lead and 11 points of second with 4 rounds remaining.

MX3 rider Cambell Williams had a tough weekend with 4 crashes across two motos.  He maintains the championship lead and will work with the team to improve between rounds.

“I am obviously upset, but I need to get back up and refocus on round 5.  This is one of those weekends that could destroy me or make me and I will regroup and turn my attention to getting back on top” said Williams.

Emma Milesevic did her best to claim 2nd in round 2 of the Women’s Australian Championship.  Emma sits 12 points off 1st and wants to turn things around before the final round in Coolum in August.

“I am happy with 2nd, but I want to win.  I have two and half months to get ready and I am going to knuckle down and do everything I can to get a win before the championship concludes in August”, said Milesevic.

Factory Honda Team rider Dean Ferris will contest Manjimup this coming weekend with team owner Yarrive Konsky.
