The Penrite Honda Racing Team and MX1 rider Brett Metcalfe are ready to come out firing for the round 3 and 4 double-header of the MX Nationals this weekend in Wonthaggi.

The team has continued development post round 2 and made further enhancements to Metcalfe’s race set up.

“We improved a lot at round 2; however I felt we could make further changes to enhance the handling. The past two weeks have been very rewarding and I am looking forward to improving on my results this weekend.” Metcalfe said.

After qualifying first and racing for the lead in moto 1 but finishing 5th overall at round 2, Metcalfe knows this did not reflect his overall speed and is keen for a very different result over the weekend.

“I am getting a better feel for the bike and have improved a lot following the opening two rounds. The small changes we have made to the bike have made a massive difference for my riding. I just want to go racing and I am looking forward to the double header this weekend.” Metcalfe finished.

Director of Penrite Honda Racing, Yarrive Konsky has high expectations going into rounds 3 and 4 and hopes to capitalise on the double header.

“Metcalfe rides the sand well and we have continued our efforts to make him comfortable. He sounds and looks more settled and we need to capitalise on his sand skills.” Said Konsky.

MXD rider Callum Norton also aims to make up for his mistake in round 2 and push for a better result.

“The points are close and I need to make the most of each race this weekend. I made a mistake in moto 2 in Appin that cost me a podium finish and I don’t want to do that again. The past few weeks have been great and I have done a lot of sand ridding at home and in Alice Springs,” Norton said.
