Newcastle to play a crucial role in our pursuit of success in AUSX

The Factory Honda Team currently leads in all three championships, and the outcomes of this weekend’s races will be instrumental in our pursuit of securing back-to-back championships in both the SX1 (450) and SX2 (250) classes.

In the SX1 championship, Boost Mobile Honda’s 450 riders Dean Wilson and Justin Brayton hold the top two positions, with Wilson acknowledging the critical importance of this weekend’s three final format. This unique format is crucial for him to differentiate himself from the competition, given that all three finals contribute to the overall point standings.

“This weekend is like competing in three rounds; each of the three finals carries full points, and I must make every final count.  I recognize the speed of my teammate and other competitors, I can’t give them an inch, I need to establish a clear lead,” said Wilson.

Dean’s teammate, Justin Brayton, is acutely aware that every race holds significance, and he understands the importance of leaving nothing to chance.

“I have been in this position many times. I just need to execute perfectly in every race. This weekend could separate us all going into the final round,” said Brayton.

In the SX2 class, Max Anstie leads on his Boost Mobile Honda CRF250R, while his Honda teammate Wilson Todd on the Terrafirma Honda holds the third position. Both riders are well aware of the significance of this weekend’s three final format.

“My goal is to maximise my weekend through consistent results.  Each race counts and I will do my best to be out the front” said Anstie.

Wilson Todd shares similar thoughts to his teammate.

“I need to be up the front in all three races, this weekend is really important as each final counts,” said Todd.

Honda is also at the forefront in the SX3 class. Parker Ross secured a thrilling victory on his Polyflor Honda in the initial round in Adelaide and is determined to replicate that success this weekend.

“I am focused on the race, being perfect in each corner, down each straight.  The riders in Australia are legit and I can’t afford any mistakes,” said Ross.
