Factory Honda Racing Australia just painted Wagga Wagga red, as Justin Brayton and Max Anstie clinched the SX1 and SX2 titles at the thrilling 2022 Australian Supercross Championship finale. Wagga Wagga marked the end of the four-race series.

Brayton continued his impressive run on Australian soil and clinched his fifth championship aboard the Honda Genuine CRF450R. ’10’ has gelled with the Honda Racing Australia crew since the very beginning and achieved what he set out to via that fourth-place finish at the season finale. 1-2-3-4 scores across the season serve as a reminder of what a picture of consistency the experienced star has been.

It was Anstie who was the first to pop champagne in Wagga Wagga, as he clinched the title with plenty of breathing room. A dominant outing in the first final perfectly encapsulated his incredible term on the Team HRC Australia CRF250R. ’99’ was third overall in Wagga Wagga, despite being tied on points with the overall victor, following a mediocre start in the final race. 1-4 scores left him in that position.

Just off of the SX2 podium was Wilson Todd, who won the final race of the season and capped off a superb year of progress aboard the CRF250R. Unfortunately, a fall early in the first race of the night meant that he could only salvage sixth and was therefore classified in fourth overall on the night. Todd was sixth in the final championship standings, yet deserving of so much more.

Much like his SX2 teammate, Todd, Kyle Webster has made incredible strides in the short four-race series. 5-6 scores in Wagga Wagga left him in sixth overall and helped him nab fifth in the standings. With his confidence only soaring, after learning from his experienced teammates, he is very eager to achieve so much more when the new season fires into life.

It has been a superb year for everyone beneath the ‘red’ tent and Honda Racing Australia would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to the championship-winning success, as well as the many fans around the world.

Justin Brayton: “It feels great to get the job done on my Honda Genuine CRF450R! To think back on all of the success that we have had in our title-winning seasons is just incredible. It was not an easy night, but we got the job done as a team and that is what matters!”

Max Anstie: “What a season with Team HRC Australia! I have said it a lot, but I have enjoyed my time here. To win the championship makes it all so much sweeter and I hope that we can carry this form into 2023. Everything is clicking at the moment!”

Wilson Todd: “It was nice to end my season with a win in the final race, but missing the podium was a bit of a blow. I am happy with the steps that we have made though and know that there is more to come!”

Kyle Webster: “It was a consistent night in Wagga Wagga and that sums up the last couple of weeks, really. I am happy with my season as a whole, but it would have been nice to get a podium! The highlight was qualifying first in the final round. Congrats to my teammates on a great season.”
