Factory Honda’s Emma Milesevic Set For Hattah Desert Race!
Emma Milesevic, the defending Hattah Desert women’s class winner, has been training very hard in preparation for the upcoming edition of the event. The fast-paced Honda female racer will be competing on a purpose built CRF450R and cannot wait to tackle the challenging desert.
“The track is a mix of motocross, enduro and Finke. There are some very fast sections where you are in top gear on a 450F and there are some tight windy sections in amongst trees. Qualifying well through prologue is important and I feel I am ready to win back-to-back titles,” Milesevic commented whilst overflowing with excitement.
Emma has been back and forth to Mildura over the past few months and feels ready for the challenge; her CRF450R is equipped with a large fuel tank and other factory parts.
“I am ready for the challenge and Honda has made it easier with a race prepared CRF450R. I have been back and forth to Mildura to practice, train and test. I appreciate Mark and Lachie coming up to help me and I will have my family there,” continued Milesevic.
Over 600 riders will compete across two days of competition. This year marks the event’s twenty-fifth year. Riders will qualify on Saturday and race in a four-hour race on Sunday.
“It’s a massive race with lots of riders. We usually do a maximum of eight laps around a thirty-seven-kilometer loop. I love that this race challenges us both mentally and physically,” concluded Milesevic.
Honda has a number of riders across several classes competing and wish all competitors a successful and safe race. Team Director Yarrive Konsky acknowledges the enormity of the race.
“Over 600 riders racing – testing themselves and their machines in the process. It is fantastic. Emma is a great role model for women in racing and we are proud to support her participation in the Hattah Desert race. We also have other Honda riders competing across other classes and wish them a safe and successful race,” said Konsky.
