Factory Honda ready to do battle in round 3 of the Pro Motocross Championship!

Following round 2 the Factory Honda team have been busy racing and testing in preparation for round 3. Team Director Yarrive Konsky is confident the team has been doing all they can to continue to contend for the 2024 championship.

“We have tested extensively this past month, we also went to South Australia to test and race on the same track we will be competing on this weekend”, said Konsky

Honda has had success on Gilman’s sandy race track, last year they won the 450 and 250 classes and they will do everything they can to replicate the result.

Boost Mobile Honda’s Kyle Webster won in Gilman last year and is confident going in this weekend, aware that his competition isn’t going to make it easy.

“I made too many mistakes in Horsham; we have done everything we can to eliminate them this weekend. Testing has gone well and I feel we are prepared”, said Webster.

Unfortunately, Terrafirma Honda’s Wilson Todd will miss the round following a practice crash which resulted in severe burn and skin tear behind the knee.

The Factory Honda’s MX2 line up sees the return of Honda Genuine’s Alex Larwood. Larwood a local South Australian hope to race inside the top 6 on his return and he starts his return to full health following a broken leg in round 1.

Current MX2 points leader Brodie Connolly will continue his conservative approach to chasing his first championship.

“My goal is the championship and I will be smart and calculated in each moto, I am not about to do anything reckless”, said the Polyflor Honda rider Connolly

Connolly’s MX2 teammate, Boost Mobile Honda’s Noah Ferguson sits in second and is taking a different approach.

“I have made a few mistakes in the first two rounds and I need to get some wins if I am going to contend. I am focused on taking two moto wins this weekend”, said Ferguson.

Current Women’s championship leader and reigning champion, SCT logistics Charli Cannon will be racing against the men again as she works towards being better prepared for her international races later this year.

“I need to be racing against faster riders, its daunting but the challenge helps me improve and I need to be faster, stronger and fitter if I am going to be competitive against the best women racers in the world”, said Cannon.

The teams sole MX3 rider, Jake Cannon will be representing Terrafirma Equipment Sales this weekend. Jake’s return to competition post injury has been nothing short than amazing. He continues to show signs of returning to the podium. Team Manager Mark Sladek believes Jake can contend for a podium this weekend.

“Jake has shown great advancements and we have improved his bike. We had limited time before round 1 to get him comfortable but I believe we have him in a good place now and he can fight for podiums”, said Sladek.
