Dean Wilson and Team to Race in Western Australia!

Factory Honda is set to compete in Western Australia’s renowned Manjimup 15000, bringing excitement to the state, dealers, and fans. Over the next two weekends, they will take part in the Manjimup 15000 and the King of the Sand. Team Director Yarrive Konsky announced the decision following their success in the 2024 Australian Pro Motocross Championship.

“Racing is the best form of practice, and we’ve made a concerted effort to compete more frequently this season. The results show it’s working. We are thrilled to support the fans, Honda dealers, and clubs in Western Australia through these premium events,” said Konsky.

Boost Mobile’s Kyle Webster, a local Western Australian, eagerly anticipates racing in his home state among family and friends. He will be joined by current Australian Supercross Champion and former American motocross champion Dean Wilson, who is excited for his first Australian motocross race.

“It was a long journey, over 30 hours of travel, I flew to Adelaide to help launch Australian Supercross before flying to Western Australia but I’m excited to see my Australian team, the fans, and Western Australia. This is a very cool experience,” said Wilson.

Wilson, coming off another successful season in America, aims to contend for race wins this weekend. The team also supports Lars Van Berkel in the 450 class. An international racer from the Netherlands, Van Berkel has achieved significant success worldwide, including a top-eight finish in the MX2 World Championship round in Lommel. He looks forward to racing on the famous Manjimup circuit.

“I’ve heard so much about this race and the track. Pedro Tragter from my home country also raced and won the World Championship when they had a round in Manjimup back in the early 90’s I think. This is a bucket list race for me,” said Van Berkel.

Noah Ferguson, Alex Larwood, and Jake Cannon will compete in the MX2 class, while Charli Cannon will race in the Women’s class, all aboard the championship winning CRF250R. Everyone, especially Charli, is looking forward to the event.

“I love riding new tracks and racing new competitors. I hope my participation here encourages more Western Australian female riders to travel east for racing as well,” said Cannon.

The event is expected to attract over 10,000 spectators and runs over three days, with the Pro riders competing on Sunday. For more information, visit www.williethomson.com
