Switching the racing gear for a coach’s hat, Penrite Honda Racing’s Brett Metcalfe is ready for a big weekend of test rides with Honda’s fleet of CRF50F kids bikes at the Adelaide 500.

Budding MX stars are welcomed to come down to the Honda CRF50F test ride zone, open from Thursday until Sunday, where coach Metcalfe has some trade tips to share.

“You always remember your first bike, it’s the most exciting thing as a kid, the first time you twist the throttle and feel the rush of freedom. I’m excited to be coaching this weekend and seeing all the kids have a ball on the little Honda’s. It’s going to be a great weekend!” Metcalfe said.

As the number 1 selling motorcycle in Australia, the CRF50F is an ideal bike for beginners with such a user-friendly set up and that bullet proof Honda reliability needed for enthusiastic new riders.

“The Honda fun bike attraction was a hit with my boys last year and is always fully booked out in previous years so I’d encourage those who want to come to the race team truck and test one out, to come and book early.” Metcalfe said.

Honda Australia will also donate all hay bales used in the activation to the Adelaide Hills fire victims after the event.

“I’m a proud South Australian so it means a lot to me that Honda is giving the hay from there activation to a local community who is in need of it and has suffered like so many others during these terrible fires in Australia.” Metcalfe added.

Honda Showtime Freestyle rider Robbie Marshall will also be competing in the Moto X Step Up, which is an elimination-style format with four Thursday practice sessions followed by three days of competition. The winner is declared when one rider remains.
