Penrite Honda focused on small gains during the break in preparation for the second half of the Australian Motocross Championship. Two-time American runner-up champion Brett Metcalfe praised the team for their support and open-minded approach.

“We really put focus on improving specific things. We would make an improvement in one place and it would affect the set up in another place, so working over these smaller things saw some great results. Overall I feel we are in a good place and I look forward to racing in Conondale this coming weekend,” said Metcalfe.

Team Director Yarrive Konsky understands the teams results need to improve, however is mindful and realistic of the challenges.

“It’s a new team and bike for Brett; we have worked hard to find the optimum setup. He is definitely capable of racing for wins/podium finishes and together we will strive to achieve that. It may happen this weekend, it may not but it won’t be from a lack of trying,” said Konsky.

Callum Norton will return to the MXD class this weekend after an action packed mid-season ‘break’ racing at Finke and then preparing for the upcoming Hattah Desert Race on the 6 – 9 July.

“I’ve been in Mildura on and off for 5 weeks and have been consumed with Hattah preparation straight after Finke. It will be great to get back into riding motocross this weekend at round six. I have set myself quite a few goals to achieve in the next few weeks, podium this weekend would be ideal and then winning my class at Hattah and podium outright… I’m ambitious but I’ve worked hard to put myself in a position where I can achieve these things,” said Norton.
